Summer is finally here, and we’re so excited to soak in every moment of sunshine, creativity, and PLAY! ☀️ This year, we created a special 8-week Summer Magnetic Tiles Play Calendar to help families like ours make the most of summer break—with easy, screen-free activities that spark imagination and learning.
Whether you’re a busy parent, caregiver, or teacher looking to fill your days with purposeful play, this calendar is your go-to guide. Each week includes 7 themed magnetic tile builds, perfect for little hands and curious minds.
🎉 Why We Made This Calendar
As a mom of two, I know how long (and hot!) summer days can feel. My youngest just graduated Pre-K (cue the proud tears 🥲), and I wanted a fun way to keep our days playful and structured. Magnetic tiles have always been our favorite toy, so this calendar was a no-brainer!
📅 What’s Inside the 8 Weeks?
Each week has a playful theme and simple magnetic tile build ideas. Think: castles, racetracks, animal habitats, and more! All activities are designed for kids ages 3–8 and use materials you already have at home—mostly magnetic tiles, toy cars, and a sprinkle of imagination.
Here’s a sneak peek of the weekly themes:
Week 1: Big Builds and Bold Ideas Think houses, bridges, and epic creations that stretch their imagination and their building skills!
Week 2: STEM in Action Introduce science, technology, engineering, and math with simple builds like balance towers, mazes, and magnetic experiments.
Week 3: Imagination Station A week of pretend play—create a rocket ship, zoo, and scenes that come straight from your child’s imagination.
Week 4: Creative Challenges Can you build a tower using only triangles? These builds challenge kids to problem-solve and think outside the box.
Week 5: Animal Adventures Explore the jungle, arctic, or ocean! Build animals, or create your own zoo.
Week 6: Ramps and Racing Build race tracks, tunnels, and ramps. Add some toy cars and get ready for high-speed fun!
Week 7: Castle and Kingdoms Towers, dragons, drawbridges, and magical lands—bring fairytales to life with your tiles.
Week 8: STEM Challenges Wrap up the summer with engaging challenges—marble runs and other builds that combine fun and learning.
💡 You can follow the calendar as-is or mix and match based on your child’s interests and attention span. Each day’s activity only takes 10–20 minutes to get started, and kids often extend the fun on their own!
