NEW Yoto Player 3rd Generation Review:

If you are conscious about how much screen time our children are exposed to, and want to find alternative ways to engage your kids and make it educational, Yoto Player 3rd Generation might be right for you.

What is Yoto Player?

Yoto Player is an audio player for children 3-12+. It plays audiobooks, podcasts, music, or even your own personalized audio (i.e., Yoto Make Your Own Cards) simply by inserting a card into a small slot on top of the player.

Each player has two knobs that you can twist and press to change volume and move through the tracks and Yoto’s daily podcasts. There is a 3.5mm port for headphones if playing out loud is not preferable. You can also get accessories for it such as an Adventure Jacket for protection and portability.

Functionality

You also don’t need to be connected to WiFi or the internet for Yoto Player to work. You only need WiFi for the initial setup. The first time a card is inserted into the player, the content downloads to the Yoto Player so that card can be played again when the player is offline.

Yoto also has a great app where you can access hundreds of free podcasts, audiobooks, radio, sleep sounds, as well as playing any of the content you own without needing the physical card.

How We Use It

Besides an audio player, it can also function as a clock, night light, and sound machine.  My son uses the night light feature a lot.  His night light is red at bed time and green in the morning to indicate that it is time for him to wake up.

My 6 year old takes it everywhere. To breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He always bring it with him on long trips, and we listen to the Yoto Daily Podcast every morning.

Yoto’s Overnight Explorer Weekend

We were thrilled when we were invited to Yoto’s Overnight Explorer Weekend to celebrate the launch of Yoto Player (3rd Generation).

We tested out the exciting new features, while also enjoying an overnight stay in Brooklyn as well as fun-filled activities. We even enjoyed special treats and collected Yoto Cards along the way.

Why You Need a Yoto Player

Audio is better than screens at nurturing creativity and imagination. These are essential skills for children.

Yoto Player (3rd Generation) allows children to listen to stories, music, activities, and educational audio by using these unique Yoto cards. This is the perfect screen-free alternative.
