Loose Parts Storage

With all of our loose parts play, it is important for us to find a proper storage solution that makes things maintainable as well as easily accessible.

Grapat Free Play Box

For the Grapat Mandala loose parts, we use a Grapat Free Play Box and reuse the cardboard box that the loose parts come in to separate them. The Grapat Free Play Box is wooden box/tray made of beech measuring 65cm x 45cm x 7cm.This solution was from @artwoodz.craft.  I simply store these Free Play Box under my couch and it’s out of the way!

Jars, Bins, and Baskets

Jars

We use acrylic jars to store extra small loose parts such as gems and balls. I like that you are able to see through them and can display them beautifully in your play room. The jars I use are from Maple & Lark. They come in Medium and Large size.

Tiered Storage Bins

My play area is limited, so I looked for vertical storage that are stackable and found some 3 tier Sterilite Storage bins. This bin is 15 x 12 x 23 inches. We like them because they are small, has a handle, and are stackable. 

Baskets

We also love our baskets from Maple and Lark. These baskets are made with quality hand crafted rope, machine stitched to provide extra strength and sturdiness. These are beautifully handmade by fair trade employees in Asia. My kids are obsessed with the various basket colors and designs. The baskets makes cleanup and loose part transport much easier.
